B.S.S.Central Public School was set up after the Golden Jubilee year of Independence i. e, in 1998 with the subject of imparting modern day education to the stadts of Purulia. It is a Co-educational English Medium Day School starting from Std. -I to Std. - X situated at Chakdah, PuTulia and a separate pre-primary section at Barakar Road, Purulia, open to all irrespective of caste, creed or religion.
The school was Affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education in the year 2014 having Affiliation No. 2430147.
The school campus comprises 3.5 Acres of Land with a magnificent two storey building, play grounds, kids garden and many more. The environs of the school are beautiful, safe, green, clean and peaceful. The school is equipped with the state of the art laboratories, equipments, well stocked library and highly qualified, trained and experienced faculty members.
